304 covers most food-plant work; 316 earns its cost around salt, strong cleaning chemicals, and certain acids. We'll spec the right alloy rather than the expensive one.
Are your welds sanitary-grade?
Product-contact seams are TIG welded, then ground and polished smooth so there's nowhere for material to sit or bacteria to hold.
Can you match our existing equipment's finish?
